About us
...Please be patient, this website is a work in progress (Jan 2025).....
I first went to Colombia in 2004. I married a Colombian woman in the USA that I had originaly met in Panama. I completed all of her immigration paperwork myself for the USA. We lived in one of the flyover states in the USA, had a child born there, then went to live and work in central Mexico in 2010 for almost 3 years.
We experienced the expat lifestyle, 100-page personal USA tax returns, Mexican tax returns, Mexican drivers licenses, child birth in Mexico, and the USA naturalization process for our child. We were able to acheive (3) citizenships (Mexico, USA, & Colombia) for one of my children to set him up for the future.
We returned to USA for a number of years. Due to completely unexpected medical reasons, we then moved to Colombia in 2021 and went through the immigration process where I received my Resident Visa and cedula extranjera. We decided on a condo in Bogota later that year because of the high quality of medical services, high standard of living, quality of the schools, nearby family, and very nice international airport that is very easy to fly in and out of.
I like to talk about obtaining your foreign permanent resident visa and second residency, so you can increase your standard of living abroad. The major cities in Colombia I have been to include: Barranquilla, Cartagena, Santa Marta, Bogotá, San Andrés, Cali, Medellín, and Bucaramanga. I also have expat experience living in Queretaro, Mexico for almost 3 years.
I enjoy spending time with my wife, kids, and dog.
